Hi, this is Daniel from ForgivenFully.com, sharing with you the exclamation point of God’s forgiveness.
Grief. Guilt. Shame. Fear. These feelings can send us into hiding, figuratively or literally. Think of a time in your life when you hid away, shut yourself off from others because of a failure or a fear of consequences.
...Maybe you’re in hiding right now.
Maybe you know deep down that sin is our failure to live up to God’s demands and expectations. It can send us into hiding; it can shut us off from God.
We can all relate to those disciples who hid away after Jesus was arrested and crucified. They all claimed they’d never leave him or deny him. They all did. Imagine the quiet agony of that Saturday. What could they possibly say to each other?
But then came Sunday. The visit to the tomb – empty! Angels saying, “He has risen, just as He said!” (Matthew 28:6) Jesus Himself appears to them! And what does He say to those who had failed Him, those who deserted Him, those who sinned against Him? He says, “Peace be with you.” (John 20:19) To you He says, “Peace be with you.” For “Jesus was handed over to die for our sins, and He was raised from death to make us right with God. So we [YOU!] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 4:25, 5:1)
Come out of hiding, for Jesus lives and He says to you, “Peace be with you.”
