Hi, this is Daniel from ForgivenFully.com, sharing with you the exclamation point of God’s forgiveness.
In the previous video I imagined what that Saturday before Easter was like for those disciples who had deserted Jesus. To dig into that a little deeper, and thinking of it from my own experiences of failing God, well there’s silent shame, shattered hope, no idea what to do next, paralyzed in the moment. …If only the disciples knew what Sunday was to bring!
Ah, but they did know! Jesus had repeatedly told them that He would rise on the third day! Though they were blinded by their grief, Jesus had told them, “I will see you again, and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” (John 16:22) And then came Sunday and the realization of that joy.
Look, grief and sorrow are very real and they serve their purpose. But I want you to remember this: It’s not Saturday. We’re not in the dark about what Jesus has done and what it means. It’s Sunday; it’s always Sunday, for Jesus has risen, our sins are forgiven, and no one can undo what He’s done, and no one can take away His promise of eternal life. So I pray that “You believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy” – even through all of life’s tears – “for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your soul.” (I Peter 1:8,9)
