Hi, this is Daniel from ForgivenFully.com, sharing with you the exclamation point of God’s forgiveness.
It happens every year in households across the land. A family gathers around the Christmas tree to open presents and they come across one that is missing the gift tag. Maybe it fell off as the presents were piled under the tree. Maybe it was forgotten in the busyness of all the wrapping. That gift tag with the little word TO is very important. It is the connection between the gift and you, bringing that wrapped box and everything it contains into your eager hands. Without it, even if that gift is as close as sitting in your lap, without the TO connecting YOU, you are left wondering, wanting, empty-handed.
So also in our relationship with God, that little word TO is all-important.
You see, God wants us to live in connection TO Him, in love, with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. But instead of living in obedience and love TO Him, we have far too often followed the desires of our self-centered hearts. Do you see the great gap between God’s holiness and our sinfulness? The only thing we should expect to come TO us from God is judgment.
But just as the Christmas angel said to the shepherds, so also the good news of Jesus is proclaimed TO YOU: “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people (or as many translations put it, “TO all the people”). Today in the town of David a Savior has been born TO YOU; He is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10,11) Only God All-Mighty could bridge the gap between heaven and earth to be born as a Savior TO YOU. Only God All-Gracious would span the space between His holiness and our sinfulness to be born as a Savior TO YOU. …It is the grace of God who so loved the world that brought this gift of salvation TO the world, TO YOU. And with that gift of a Savior comes everything He contains: all His blessings, the forgiveness of all your sins, eternal life in Heaven – given TO YOU from God. This is the exclamation point of God’s forgiveness to remove all your doubts.
Thank you for your time, and may God bless you with what you heard here today at ForgivenFully.com.
