Hi, this is Daniel from ForgivenFully.com, sharing with you the exclamation point of God’s forgiveness.
How important is an anchor for a ship? Well without an anchor, a ship is going to be helpless in any storm, battered about and set adrift, likely to run aground and sink.
What is the anchor of your life?
Who do you depend on to keep you stable and secure during all the dramas and troubles and tragedies of life? We often like to think of ourselves as self-sufficient, but c’mon, we know better, don’t we? And there’s no certainty in our jobs or our investments or our health. Sometimes even family and friends let us down.
But God offers you an anchor for your life that is firm and secure. When God promised Abraham that from his line would come the Savior of us all, He backed it up with an oath. Imagine that, God making an oath! He had no one else greater to swear by, so He swore by the authority of His own name. He did this to make it clear to Abraham – and to us – that His promise was and is unchanging, irrevocable, unbreakable. And now, "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19) And our sure hope is none other than this, that this promised descendant of Abraham is Jesus – the bearer of our sins, the lover of our souls, and the guarantee of eternal life. …You are anchored in God’s grace through faith in Jesus!
